Supply Co. Food Box
A research-based project for my student thesis. The project began by identifying a problem and researching solutions. User profiles, user journeys, risk assessment, and primary research methods inform design solutions.
Supply Co. Food Box seeks to ease the learning curve young adults face when learning to cook for themselves. The product is a meal planning formula and box of non-perishable staples. The elements are an outer package, information booklet, and reusable shopping bag.
The outer package has a removable belly band and straps. The belly band is printed with the project branding and contents information. Nutrition information and the basic meal planning formula are also printed. The straps make it possible to use the outer package as a shopping basket. It is resealable and can also be used for storage.
The information booklet goes more in-depth into the meal planning formula. It includes a basic recipe strategy and shopping lists to help users organize. The formula is open to adapt to any dietary needs.
The reusable shopping bag is made of sturdy canvas and features product branding. It is intended for veteran users returning to their shopping.
This product was intended as a grocery store item. However, streamlining the shopping process may compromise grocery store profits. It may have a bigger impact on young adults at risk. Those seeking help to get their lives started or in order.
