Sustainable Toiletries
A student exploration into a minimalist approach on grooming consumables.
This project sought to determine the fewest products needed for daily unisex grooming. The brief required packaging to be reusable. The packaging is made of natural cork, card paper, upcycled leather, and 2 buttons. The tag with contents information and barcode is printed on recycled paper. Most contents of the package have sustainable options. A soap and shampoo bar combination for washing the whole body. No extra packaging is required. Toothpaste in a metal tube is recyclable after use. One moisturizer for the face and body in a recyclable tube. A safety razor with replaceable blades reduces waste. Silk dental floss is biodegradable. Bamboo toothbrushes with bamboo bristles are also biodegradable. A cotton facecloth is reusable. And a deodorant in a paper tube is recyclable. At the end are 3 detachable paper pockets for added user storage. The straps that hold the package closed can be used to hang the package for easy use. Users can turn the package around and use the cork backing as a portable corkboard, or as a heat-resistant desk pad.
